Kieth Rieger
About
Mr. Rieger has focused in the area of matrimonial law for more than four decades. His practice includes the negotiation and litigation of complex matrimonial and family law matters. Throughout his career, Mr. Rieger has handled a number of challenging and complex matters, including significant equitable distribution and interstate custody trials. Mr. Rieger even set legal precedent in a landmark custody case involving the rights of a non-biological father.
As an authority in his field, Mr. Rieger regularly speaks to attorneys in continuing legal education programs. He is a past Dean of the Nassau Academy of Law and served on the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board. He has also held leadership positions in the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section, New York Family Law American Inn of Court, and the Nassau County Bar Association, and he is a longtime member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Mr. Rieger’s writing on family law topics has been published in the Family Law Review, Strategies for Family Law in New York, and The Nassau Lawyer. He has lectured on family law issues at the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations, and the New York State Judicial Institute Seminars for Supreme Court Justices, Family Court Judges and Court Attorneys; and has taught at Hofstra University School of Law. He has been named to Super Lawyers, and was named the Family Law Long Island Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in 2020.
